France Korea Particle Physics and e-science Laboratory
Created in 2008, the FKPPL aimed at fostering collaboration between Korean and French teams in the research fields of the 2 infinities (particle physics, hadronic physics, nuclear physics, high energy astrophysics and cosmology) and related disciplines (multidisciplinary applications, accelerator physics, computing, open science).
In close collaboration with the France-Japan and France-China Particle Physics Laboratories, FKPPL provided a framework for initiating projects between CNRS Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics and Korean universities and research organizations.
Starting from 2023, FKPPL has been transformed into a International Research Network and therefore renamed FKPPN.
The yearly FKPPN call for projects provides the opportunity for new initiatives to receive support mainly for travel exchanges. This seed funding allows laying the foundation for scientific collaboration and preparing joint grant applications including those offered by the French embassy in Korea.
Every year, the FKPPN-FJPPN joint workshop is the opportunity for trilateral exchanges between research teams in Japan, Korea and France. The next workshop will be held 14-16 May 2025 at LS2N in Nantes.
